Date set for postal voting for Sri Lankan parliamentary election

COLOMBO, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) — Postal voting for the Sri Lankan parliamentary election, scheduled for Nov. 14, will take place on Oct. 30, Nov. 1, and Nov. 4 at all District Secretariats and district election offices, Chairman of the Election Commission R.M.A.L. Ratnayake told journalists in Colombo on Thursday.
Voters who are unable to cast their ballots during this period will have an additional opportunity to vote on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 at the same locations, he said.
He further noted that Oct. 27, Oct. 31, and Nov. 3 have been designated as special days for the distribution of official polling cards for the final voting on Nov. 14. ■
